Hawaiian Vacation- Part 5

Sorry it took so long to finish the posts about our cruise, I've tried to upload these darn pictures 4 times and something always goes wrong, but at last, success!
On the last day, we sailed from Kuaui and docked at Honolulu. We had a couple hours before our plane left so we visited Pearl Harbor. It was life changing, that place has so much history and is so very much alive even after 60+ years. Here are some pictures from the day.
A fighter plane- One of the memorials-
The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial-
A plaque for each of the ships that went down and the lives that were lost on that ship, this is about 1/5 of the plaques-

We took a tour and watched a video reliving that day. The memorial is built over the wreckage of the USS Arizona where over 1100 sailors lost their lives-

Views from the memorial-
A list of the men who lost their lives on December 7, 1941-
One of the ships they had there to tour that was involved in WWII.

It was humbling, eye opening and an experience I will never forget.
After Pearl Harbor, we boarded a plane and flew home. It was 7 days of rest, relaxation, fun, education, physical endurance and quality time with my husband. It was amazing and a trip I will always treasure.
