Easter Festivities
Well, our Wonderful Easter Weekend Festivities started on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 when we (Caden, Bailey and I) loaded up the car to get Andrew. Bailey brought her book from Poppa Keena (Quick as a Cricket). She read it most of the way there... when she wasn't sleeping or snacking on goldfish crackers...
Then we arrived here around 4:00.
I LOVE this town. The simplicity, the beauty, the history, the people...
Bailey was looking particularly darling this day, Andrew documented it while learning how to use my new camera. Little did I know, I wouldn't get much time with my new toy while Andrew was around! :)
After picking up Andrew at John Brown, we headed here... it's a tradition... we HAD to!
Caden was very excited that we stopped. He was ready for some time out of the car.
Bailey was checking out this "Barnett's" place and trying to figure out why mommy was talking to the worker so long... (It was Alicia Garr, my favo friend from Barnett's in high school)
Then Reid (the owner) came out and asked me to write down the directions for a "Christa Keena" which is a drink I made up when I worked there. People still order it there today! I'm so proud! Bailey wanted to see what all the excitment was about.
Then she enjoyed her cup of ice cream... yum!
About 3/4 of it made it in her mouth! The other fourth was on her face and all over the table...
We drove home and hung out with Jason, they ordered Pizza while Dana and I went shopping for some Easter shoes for Bailey. On Friday we went thrift store shopping and to Sam's, then went home for naptime. We got the kids up and ready for a photo shoot at our friend's house, only to realize (once we got there!) that the shoot was cancelled due to homeschooling problems. We went back home and Bailey ate dinner and then we turned around to check on her and saw this...
She woke up after about 10 pictures, we put her to bed.
That night we just hung out and then the next morning Andrew and I got up to go garage saleing. When we got home, Jason had both of the kids up and outside playing in the yard! Bailey took a break for some juice and puffs...
Caden was sporting his hip new hat, he's so fair skinned he burns so quickly! I have a feeling hats will be a part of his outdoor wardrobe for years to come!
He didn't seem to mind though!
Bailey and I played with some dandelions while Jason mowed the lawn, the first mow of the year!
Then it was nap time. Can you spot the 2 sleeping boys? :)
After nap time, Jason and I went out to a movie (Monsters vs. Aliens on 3-d Imax... very cute!) and our wonderful Andrew watched the kids. After the movie we stopped at Target to get him an Easter basket. He loved it! (The Wii is not a part of his Easter basket... Jason bought the Wii for us!)
The next day was Sunday, Easter Sunday! We were up and went off to church, had a wonderful time. Andrew helped us in nursery and we went over to the Clark's after church for Easter lunch. Here is what awaited us as we entered the house. Can you tell whose is whose?
Bailey showed off her adorable outfit. Poppy helped her when she lost a shoe... a pretty pink, sparkly shoe!
Grandma Sehested was there and made sure Bailey knew just how cute she was!
Then it was picture time... before the meal! The kids were exhausted, but did pretty well.
Bailey, Caden and Cousin Hunter.
My precious boy.
Bailey girl!
Then we had lunch, and it was time for the Easter Egg hunt! I don't think Caden understood what we were supposed to do...
"What's going on?"
Bailey and Hunter making their way up the stairs to the Easter egg hunt upstairs!
it is so fun to see your easter weekend!
